"the combination of the harp with the oboe is a winning formula"

Eleri Darkins is part of the ‘Celtica Duo’ with oboist Gwenllian Davies they take music into the wider community as part of ‘Live Music Now!’ scheme. They perform to various audiences in hospitals, special schools, day centres for the elderly and adult learning centres. Their hope is to continue to expand the harp and oboe repertoire and play more chamber music. New compositions by Enid Luff (‘Telyneg’, received its premier at the Beaumaris Festival, 2000) and Huw Watkins (‘3 Songs without Words’ 1999) During the Fishguard Festival, July 2002 they performed a newly commissioned work by Mervyn Burtch, thanks to funding from the Arts Council of Wales. The duo have given recitals at the Ripon International Festival, Ryedale Festival and the Vale of Glamorgan Festival.
